Ms. Kent is a long time member of NANM and DMA, attending her first convention in Minneapolis. She is a graduate of Fisk University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Piano) and was an active Fisk Jubilee singer (1961-63). Throughout her life, she has had a dual career as both a musician and a Public Administrator. In her public administration role, Ms. Kent has worked extensively for the US Government including in the Department of Defense. As a musician, she has served as a church organist at various churches including Augsburg Chapel (Augsburg, Germany), Plymouth UCC (Detroit), and Second Grace UMC where she currently serves. Additionally, Ms. Kent is an active member of the Brazeal Dennard Chorale, having been a member since 1982.
