Dr. Stanley Waldon

Dr. Waldon is a dedicated DMA member with a longstanding history, having attended his first convention in St. Louis around 1980. His diverse skill set includes roles as an educator, administrator, pianist, organist, and conductor.


Starting his career as a music teacher at Noble Jr. High School in the Detroit Public Schools Community District, Dr. Waldon later transitioned into counseling, holding various leadership positions such as City Wide Supervisor of west side high schools and Supervisor of a Federally Funded DropOut Prevention Program. Throughout his career, he served as Assistant Principal at Cass Technical High School and Principal at several schools, including the Elmdale Conservatory of Music and Arts. Following his retirement, he continued to impart his knowledge as a Professor at Wayne State University, specializing in piano skills for music majors.
